Reservation Policy and Domicile Guidelines
The university has laid out clear directives regarding the reservation criteria and necessary documentation:
- Certification Deadlines: Certificates for EWS and OBC-NCL (Non-Creamy Layer) categories must be formatted properly and issued on or after 01.04.2026, corresponding to prevailing Government of West Bengal guidelines. Failure to present an updated NCL certificate on counselling day will result in the candidate being reassigned to the Unreserved (UR)/General pool.
- Reservation Framework: Seat allocation for EWS, PwD, SC, and ST applicants aligns with current West Bengal Government regulations. OBC seating allocations adhere to Kolkata Gazette Notification Nos. 944-BCW/MR-23/2026 and 945-BCW/MR-23/2026 (both dated 18.05.2026), as well as Labr/85-Emp/EC/1M-01/2025 dated 25.05.2026. In the event of vacancies, unfilled SC seats will transition to ST applicants, and vice versa. PwD quotas will be populated on a horizontal basis inside the candidate’s respective category.
- Domicile Requirements: Standard domicile certificates are mandatory. However, proofs signed by elected people’s representatives—including municipal commissioners, councilors, panchayat members, GTA representatives, MLAs, or MPs—will not be accepted.
- Parental Domicile Proof: If an applicant submits a domicile certificate under e-District or Proforma b establishing their parent’s residential status, they must provide two original identification proofs belonging to the parent showing a West Bengal address during verification. Acceptable documents include a Voter ID, [Aadhaar Redacted], or a Passport.
Vital Instructions for Applicants
Seat distribution will progress serially according to the Provisional Merit List until all category quotas are filled. Participating in the counselling phase does not automatically guarantee enrolment, as final determinations rest entirely with the admission committee. The institution retains the authority to modify the total seat count without providing a justification.
All granted admissions maintain a provisional status. If university officials discover that an individual provided fraudulent information, submitted false documents, or concealed material facts, their admission will be immediately revoked.
Additionally, chosen candidates are mandated to submit a downloaded online Anti-Ragging affidavit at the time of initial registration, and must renew this pledge every subsequent academic year via www.antiragging.in and www.amanmovement.org.
