Physical Eligibility Test (PET) Criteria

Selection Process Framework

The state-level written examination consists of a single objective multiple-choice paper worth 70 marks. While mandatory, the Physical Eligibility Test (PET) is solely qualifying in nature and will not add numerical value to the merit calculation.

Furthermore, sports achievement weightage is not extended to candidates applying via the dedicated sports quota. For such applicants, the Punjab Sportsmen Recruitment Rules, 1988, remain valid. If a candidate holds multiple gradation certificates, weightage can only be claimed for a single certificate issued under the revised Gradation Policy, 2023, mandated by the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, Punjab.

As stipulated by the 28-10-2022 notification from the Punjab Government, a mandatory Punjabi language paper of Matriculation standard must be passed with a minimum of 50% marks. In instances of a tie in the written test, the older candidate will be ranked higher. Should their age also tie, preference goes to the applicant holding a higher percentage of marks in their professional or educational qualifications.
