New Delhi:- The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has formally declared the upcoming launch of a newly developed educational resource for Grade 9 students.
According to a press release distributed on September 28, the latest publication is titled Understanding Society: India and Beyond, Social Science Textbook for Grade 9, Part 2. Official retail sales for the educational material will commence on September 29, 2026.
Authorised Purchasing Channels
To ensure buyers receive authentic copies, the council has advised prospective buyers to use its official and authorised distribution channels to obtain the textbook. Starting September 29, the material will be accessible via NCERT’s Publication Division outlets and authorised vendors.
Additionally, digital procurement options are available. The publication will be listed on the official NCERT website, giving students and educators an online route to access information about the publication and its availability. The textbook will additionally be available through Amazon, which has been listed by NCERT as an approved e-commerce platform for purchasing the title.
While primarily intended for students of Grade 9, the council noted that parents, teachers, and scholars can also purchase the textbook through these verified sales channels.
