NEW DELHI (Education Desk) — The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has formally extended the application deadline for the Simultala Residential School Entrance Examination 2027-28 (Class 6). Parents aiming to enroll their children must now ensure the online application form is filled out within the stipulated time, ending on August 28, 2026.
The admission cycle involves a two-stage testing process. The preliminary exam for admission will be held in October, followed by the main exam in December.
Seat Allocation and Selection Process
This entrance exam will grant admission to a total of 120 seats at the Simultala Residential School located in Jamui. The capacity is divided equally, with 60 seats reserved for boys and 60 for girls. Because the entrance exam will be conducted in two phases, final admission will be granted based on the merit list formulated from the scores obtained in both phases.
Eligibility to Fill the Form
To appear for this entrance exam, applicants must meet the strict age and educational requirements set by the board:
- Students must be a native of Bihar.
- Students must be at least 10 years old and at most 12 years old.
- Candidates must be studying in or have passed class 5th at a recognized school.
Application Fee Details
The application cost varies based on candidate category and the fee can be paid online.
- ₹200 Fee: Candidates belonging to the Unreserved, Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Extremely Backward Classes, and Backward Classes will need to submit an online application along with a fee of ₹200.
- ₹50 Fee: Applicants from the SC and ST categories will need to pay ₹50.

- After this, you will have to log in and complete the form by filling the required information correctly.
- Photograph and signature will have to be uploaded.
- Save the application and check its details.
- The prescribed fee has to be deposited.
- Finally, take a printout of the form.
Important Instruction for Parents: After completing the application form, parents should ensure they have the school principal forward the hard copy and keep it safe. This document will be required at the time of admission.
